Back from the US, part 3, Hogsmeade (1)

from Key West we drove to Orlando, to enter "Hogsmeade" early next morning !!!
The Universal Studios opened at 9 am, but we arrived allready at 8 am. Good so, because we had to sty in line allready. A Lady from Birmingham,GB told me that she had visited Hogsmead the day before, but it was so overloaded with people that they tried another visit very early. When the doors opened, everybody, YES ! EVERYBODY walked straight right and directly into the Wizarding world of Harry Potter ! No one stopped at Seuss Landing or the other attractions, left around a corner at the oriental market, there it was to arch you have to pass to get into Hogsmead !!!

from Newark we took the Amtrak Silver Star and headed forward to Miami, took a rental car and on to Key West...

At Fort Meyer they started preparing for a big Halloween event, but we left allready the other day

we stayed just one night in Key West, we expected more nature, not so much party....

Back from the US, part 1 NYC

Hello my friends,
it took a while for me to get back to normal after our long US trip. The journey was phantastic and we saw so much ! Now I like to share some impressions from our tour. We arrived in Newark New Jersey and stayed there at the Best Western Robert Treat Hotel ( great Hotel, great service, Shuttlebus to the Newark Pennstation). We took the pathtrain from Newark pennstation to go to Manhattan Pennstation, from where you can reach the most NYC places by walking, but we tried also the bus and suburb, everything works fine.

We had breakfast at Tom´s Diner ( where Jerry Seinfeld and friends have met in the TV serie), great breakfast, nice service !

We´ll leave soon and hopp over to the US to see a bit from the other side of world plus doing the Philadelphia Miniaturia November 5th and 6th.It´s my first miniature fair in the US, after doing so many dollshow there in 20 years of being in the dollbuissiness I´m excited like a beginner.
So guess what else ?
We will be in the US during Halloween !!! booohooooo..... isn´t that cool ???!!!

I have two Babysitters for the house and the cats. I have warm clothes for the upper eastcoast and light clothes for the lower eastcoast in the bag, slippers and boots, two cameras and 5 Gigabyte to saving photos :o) I´ll try to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando as well as the National Christmas Museum in Lancaster. I´ll promise to take as many photos as I can and show you the best when I´m back. Cross your fingers that the cameras will work !!!But I won´t leave you all here without any autumn impressions from my hometown here.... I had to test the handling of my new/old camera ( I found a great used one at Ebay ! Does perfect shots outside !!)

Hi folks, I´m busy busy busy working for an upcoming exhibition end of may here in germany. It is our biggest miniature fair. Please forgive my rare blogging.

Am 28.+29.Mai 2011 könnt ihr mich wieder auf der "1zu12" Miniaturenmesse in Rheda-Wiedenbrück antreffen. Dieses Jahr ist wieder alles neu, neuer Ort, neue Halle, neuer Standplatz. Leider kann ich auch noch nicht sagen wo ich stehen werde, bitte nehmt den Ausstellerkatalog zu hilfe und sucht nach "Janas-Schlösser,Silke"

I´m busy taking photos for the Etsy update I promised,
I´m going to post following OOAK 1/12th miniature figures tomorrow evening/ german time (CET/ MEZ)( UTC+1). ( EST would be about +6 hours)
I´m sorry I can´t tell an exactly time, that is too complicated.
This night we have to switch the clock from 2am to 3am /daylight saving time and I don´t know exactly if USA and Australia will do this too.

I hope you are now as confused as I am,LOL
when checking words through the Google translater I found another word for confused, it is "befuddled", that sounds so funny ! I like that word ! Does this really mean the same like confused or is the translator fooling me again ???

I´m sorry I´m such a bad Blogger at the moment. I´m busy working on a lot of special orders I had taken, and can show you now a finished one.
I need to be very busy this year because I have 2 big miniature fairs I´m participating in .
The first is in May, it is our german miniature Fair
"1zu 12" now in Rheda - Wiedenbrück held on two days end of may , that is pretty soon !!!
and
the other will be the
" Philadelphia Miniaturia" in USA held on 5th and 6th November 2011. ( please check my schedules listed beside the blog)

I have also a few other shows I´m doing
" Schöne kleine Welt" a miniature show in Gießen/Germany
and the
annual Dollery show in Whitman USA I´m participating in since many years with my bigger dolls.

This order shown here is also for the Dollery Store and shows another mix of a big doll with some miniatures in 1/12th scale. The beautiful antique looking books, scrolls and bottles were hand made especially for me by Karin Caspar. ( Thanks a lot Karin !) Yes, she is a miniaturist, but she can create much more than miniature :o)
The witches closet is a vintage one but altered with lots of different stain....
the miniature dolls are posable like my big dolls are, so there should be a lot of fun when the collector starts "playing" with it ;o)

Since I know that I´m doing the Philadelphia Miniaturia in November I have to make plans now how to handle the christmas orders.
So please if you think about asking me for doing special orders for christmas, pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaase ask early, aaaaaas early as you can.
You just need to pay a small deposit for placing the order , the final payment has to be made when the order is finished.

Beside this I´ll try to update my Etsy online shop as often as I can, next update is planned end of this month/ beginning of april with a few new miniature dolls in 1/12th , but I´ll let you know early here at my blog when.

When I´m listing dolls in my online shop, I use allways a currency converter to get through all the exchange rates from EUR into US$ and GBP... and there it happend, can´t tell you how, but I had offered this toddler witch much to high,LOL

Hello my friends,
I´m back from the big special exhibition and event
"3.Sagenhaftes Schaubergwerk" in the Museum in Sassenroth. We had almost 1000 visitors and it was a great success !
I will soon upload photos from this exhibition at (please click) Sagenhaftes Schaubergwerk please visit often because I won´t be able to load all pics at once. It should have been an exhibition of my and Karin Caspar´s work but I´m so sorry that Karin was´n able to participate, but I hope she will enjoy all the pics !!!I took all the things with me which Karin had made for my private collection and have exhibited more than 100 of my original dolls and figures . I hope you´ll enjoy all the photos.

Hallo Leute, ich bin zurück vom Rik Pierce Kurs.
Es war mein 2. Kurs bei Rik Pierce und es hat wieder super viel Spaß gemacht, wir hatten unheimlich viel Spaß und natürlich auch viel Arbeit,
Themenbox war nun: The Tanglewood box, für diejenigen die nicht wissen wie die original Tanglewood box aussieht, besucht bitte Rik´s Online Album: Rik Pierce

Am Anfang überlegte ich mir, dass ich gerne eine andere Türe und ein anderes Fenster haben möchte, ich wollte einen Hexenladen bauen, also modellierte ich mir Fenster und Türe aus Polymerer Modelliermasse ...
Das modellieren mit Paperclay war zum Glück nicht neu für mich, so wollte ich unbedingt sofort loslegen und entschied mich für weitere kleine Änderungen...
Ich wollte keine Innenräume, eine Aussenszene fand ich ideal um meine Puppen dort zu präsentieren also mußte vorne auch etwas mehr Platz her auf kosten des Innenraums.

Ich plante ausserdem die front spiegelverkehrt zur original Tanglewoodbox.

...ich hatte nun ein anderes Fenster, eine andere Türe

...und toppte das Ganze noch mit einem pinken Dach !!pink !!!!roof :o)

okay, soooo pink sollte es natürlich nicht bleiben, da mußte ich noch was dran tun... ;o)

Noch 2 Wochen...am 29+30 Mai ist wieder die Miniaturenmesse "1zu12" in Soest/ Westfalen.
Ihr findet mich an meinem alten Standplatz, Treppe hoch und da bin ich :o)
Ich werde so einiges im Gepäck haben, bin noch immer ganz fleißig und hoffe ich kann Euch mit vielen neuen Figuren überraschen !

Ooops, I just recognized I haven´t posted since the new year started....

Maybe it´s because I feel like falling into a winter sleep. It´s icy and snowy since weeks now and no spring in sight....but it´s sooooo beautiful to see..............I´m sure most of you have the sight when looking out of their windows ... ;o)and for those who haven´t , here come a few impressions from this morning .

Ich habe gerade festgestellt dass ich dieses Jahr noch gar nicht gepostet habe, nun ja ,dass mag daran liegen, das ich glaube mich im Winterschlag zu befinden... Seit Wochen ist es nun schon eisig und verschneit, aber es sieht so wunderschön aus..... After a few days offline, I will send you warmest christmas wishes and show you a few pics of our trip to Rothenburg o.d. Tauber in Germany, while there was a temperature about -14° Celsius .

This trip was a birthday present from my hubby and it was just wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!

Has somebody of you any idea what plant this is ?It came by itself,I didn´t plant it,my neighbors don´t have it, I asked allready, it´s now about 37"/ 95cm high, the stalk is about 1to 1 and 1/2" thick/ 3-4cm.It´s growing fast. I thought it might be interesting, so I let it grow, but wonder what it is...maybe it´s an Audrey 2...so I should better know about !LOL

Kann mir jemand sagen was das hier für eine Pflanze ist ? Sie wuchs von alleine, ich habe sie nicht gepflanzt und meine Nachbarn haben sie auch nicht, geschweige kennen sie. Sie ist schon ca. 95cm hoch mit einem Stengel oder besser Stamm von 3-4cm !!! Sie wächst schnell.Ich dachte es wäre interesannt ,möchte aber dennoch wissen was sie für eine ist...könne ja auch eine Audrey 2 sein....da wüßte ich dann doch gerne mehr Bescheid! :o)

..since we have a final date " this JUNE !" for our complete moving (not the studio that has moved allready last year !!! but our private stuff is still waiting to get moved I´m running out of time and have much less time for the internet. My collectors still need my attention as my retailers too and I will have my premiere in the miniature world at the 1zu12 fair in Soest/Westfalen End of May. So I´m busy working for those all between packing boxes with privat things.

If any of my collectors here might get a parcel filled with my china, my pots or my dresses, please forgive me ,I´m very sorry I will exchange it directly into your loved doll you are waiting for ;o)

If I have a tiny bit time left for my other Love my Blogs,I will keep you updated what´s going on here and upload some pics, weather dolls, miniatures or from our garden to entertain you.
For all of you who have treated my with severall awards : Thank you so so much !!! Please forgive me that I have not enough time to post them all here with the answers and links etc. The same with my own award I give to Blog I admire (without any rules) I´ll start the giving again as soon as I can breath again.

I can hear her little sewing machine running the whole day.
But she locked the door and I can´t see anything.
I hear the models giggle and laughing, sometimes shouting on each other.... so I tried to peak through the key hole...

can´t wait to see the whole show !

Liesl näht fleißig mit ihrer kleinen Nähmschine für ihre 2.Top Model Show, das kann ich hören. Allerdings hat sie die Türe abgeschlossen und ich kann rein gar nichts sehen... aber ich kann die Models dahinter kichern und lachen hören, manchmal zanken sie sich auch...
nun hab ich versucht durch´s Schlüsselloch zu gucken ...
schaut mal was ich da gesehen hab ....

We have that new little companion here living with us ( me, my family, the Trolls,the Fairies,the gnomes, etc...).
Her name is Ruby Tuesday, she was born on a TUESDAY. She is..hmm...clever. The cleverest girl I met and guess what´s going on here...
My dear assistant Liesl Troll, her nature is simple, nosy and wanting almost everything had welcomed Ruby very heartly with a tea party. When Liesl recognised Ruby had that special pet, that green Frog or Toad or whatever wearing a little golden crown, she wanted to know how´s about that.
Clever Ruby told Liesl she had to find out by herself, she just need to kiss that green thing. But this shouldn´t be for free, Liesl had to give Ruby something to let her kiss that green Whimsy.
Liesl told me her thougts, it might be an enchanted Prince waiting for her...
No wonder, Liesl took out her baggage with hidden sweets, candy, chocolate, her collection of dollies and teddybears and let Ruby choose from.
Ruby choose candy.
Liesl kissed the pet.
Nothing happened.
Liesl got angry.
Ruby said ,try it again and choose chocolate....
Liesl tried it again.
Nothing.
Liesl got sad.
Ruby offered again Liesl might try another kiss...
Liesl agreed and Ruby choose a teddybear.
Liesl kissed the greenish one.
Nothing happened....
again...
again..
again.

Now a week has gone by and that green Toad is still like he was at the beginning. Ruby has allready her own bag filled .. no ..overloaded with goodies from almost every inhabitant from my studio and nothing happened. Liesl is thrilled and stomping and crying and shouting and bidding....
For what ?
For more goodies from me to trade with Ruby !!!
Ruby is in best mood.
It´s not really a fair deal ,isn´t it ?

The only inhabitant, including myself, who didn´t try to kiss that strange greeny is a real Prince, a King, okay he is the King of thieves but he is loyal to us and wanted me to share this studio adventures with you to warn you.

And the little greenish guy...?

Oh he is cute, he´s really cute, he thinks everybody loves him !!! He is in best mood and get´s good food from everyone.He´s nice to everybody, makes everybody smiling.
Everyone is taking good care on him because maybe...eventually ...the right kiss will make him a beautiful Prince !!!!

Wie ist es eigentlich eine Auszeichnung zu vergeben ? Nun versuch´s einfach ,dachte ich mir. It´s not yet Valentins day but the Valentins Annie from Primgrl1 arrived this morning and now I´m in trouble ! Liesl opened the parcel and now she thought it´s hers !!!!Florence/Primgrl1 she is sooo darling !!!
But my idea was to bring my hubby the idea to give this cute little Annie to ME on Valentinsday...Hmmm...what shall I do ????....

Es ist noch nicht Valentinstag aber heute kam schon die süße Valentis Annie von Primgrl1an und Liesl stürtze sich auf´s Päckchen und öffnete es. Nun glaubt sie natürlich es wäre ihre !!! Miss P´s travel home

....after another christmas night full of gifts and wonders, brave Miss P ,the pretty in pink magical mouse,little helper of my artist friend Gail Lackey from the US,decided to reside in the cat´s cosy and comfortable home ! -
nach einer weiteren Weihnachtsnacht voll von Wundern und Geschenken, entschied sich unsere tapfere Miss P die Nacht im warmen comfortablen Haus der Katze zu verbringen.

The next morning, after a pieceful sleep, it´s time to say Goodbye,
Miss P gives the Cat a hug...no more afraid of her,
the cat had been told that there aren´t pink mice in Germany ,
so she thought Miss P is one of the foreign fairies with magical power and was afraid getting spelled into a frog !-
Am nächsten Morgen, nach einem friedlichen Schlaf, ist es an der Zeit sich zu verabschieden. Miss P umarmt die Katze ohne Angst und die erzählte ihr, dass es keine pinken Mäuse in Deutschland gibt, so nahm sie an, dass Miss P einer der ausländischen Elfen mit magischen Kräften ist und hatte Angst in einen Frosch verwandelt zu werden !

All goodies packed and ready to go, Miss P saddled the hedgehog again and took off for her trip home. "Bye bye lovely Miss P !Come back any time !!! Take care on you and be watchful of the snowstorms !" -
Alle Geschenke verstaut und fertig zur Abreise, den Igel wieder gesattelt, macht sich Miss P auf den Weg nach Hause." Auf Wiedersehen Miss P ! Komm jederzeit wieder ! Pass auf dich auf und sei vorsichtig wegen der Schneestürme !"

- please Santa ,help Miss P to get back well and safe ! ..and please quick ! Because of the time difference she can celebrate Christmas a bit longer :o) - Bitte lieber Weihnachtsmann, hilf Miss P gesund und sicher nach Hause zu kommen !....und bitte schnell ! Wegen der Zeitdifferenz kann sie dann nämlich länger Weihnachten feiern :o)

Wir sind so aufgeregt ! Wir erwarten Besuch aus USA. Und zwar die kleine Miss P( Miss Pennythistle),nicht nur eine Mäuseschönheit in pink, nein auch rechte Hand ,Beraterin und nicht mehr wegdenkbare Begleiterin meiner Freundin Gail Lackey. Wir glauben dass Ihr genauso in freudiger erwartung seid wie wir, darum wollen wir euch nichts von Ihrem Besuch vorenthalten !( Bitte Bildchen anklicken !)

Bringing christmas goodies for her friends - Mit Weihnachtsgeschenken für ihre Freunde !

"Surprise ! Surprise !" Liesl: "Oops, we didn´t expect that you´re so....so...
....so tiny !" Miss P: " Ooooops - and I didn´t expect a CAT !!!"
- "Überraschung ! Überraschung !" Liesl: Huch ,wir haben nicht erwartet dass du so... so ...klein bist !!!" Miss P : "Huuuuch- und ich habe keine Katze erwartet !!!"

Now on to the welcoming and gift giving ...nun weiter zur Begrüßung und Geschenkeverteilung...

The gifts were "a little bit" oversized for Miss P...-die Geschenke waren dann doch ein wenig übergroß für Miss P.!

Not amused about the huge gifts, including some oversized hats and shawls and goodies, but very tired from the travel, having jetlag, Miss P tried to sleep....but couldn´t get her eyes closed...still in panic about the wrong gifts ...and the CAT !- Nicht besonders erfreut über die riesigen Geschenke welche einige übergroßen Hüte, Schals und andere Dinge beinhalteten,jedoch sehr müde,auch noch gejetlagged, versucht Miss P. ein wenig zu schlafen...jedoch in Panik wegen der falschen Geschenke und...der KATZE !

During the night the older Trolls and Fairies plus the cat in the house tried to do their faery best to get new gifts for dear Miss P- Während der Nacht gaben die älteren Trolle und Elfen im Haus zusammen mit der Katze ihr bestes um neue Geschenke für Miss P zu bekommen.

Merry Christmas Miss P !!! Surprise surprise !!! And the world is well again. - Fröhliche Weihnachten Miss P ! Überraschung ! Überraschung ! Und die Welt ist wieder in Ordnung !
